    hi,
I am in last year E&TC DY Patil Pune university. I happened to come across your blog and i did find this very interesting.I am working on a project sponsored by a company and i am told to build a hotel management system where i will be required to build my own touchscreen handheld device which is to be interfaced via wifi to a computer.i just have one qs…i have never worked on avr microcontrollers…altho i am very comfortable with programming a standard 8051 controller…altho i wud love to learn the AVRs…so like do u think i shud stick wid 8051 or go with the AVR for interfacing the touchscreen…also how different is it to program an AVR to a standard 8051…??….i hope to share info with u guys on this…

AVRs are pretty much simple to program in C, and they don’t need a full fledged programmer to dump programs in them. Also they have a lots of inbuit features, like USART, ADC, PWM timers etc. You can aswell interface the Touch screen with 8051, if you are programming in assembly, it will be a bit difficult though. If you want any help you can post it here.
